The Awards for Excellence is the most prestigious event in the Painting and Decorating Industry, it is the

industry’s night of nights and is an opportunity for painters to showcase their projects from the smallest decorative wall to multi storey projects. 

 

The “Awards for Excellence” Heritage Restoration category is always a very popular category attracting many entries.  In 2015 the entries ranged from $200,000 projects down to $10,000 projects.  This award incorporates all the finer aspects of the painting and decorating trade and enables entrants to be rewarded for their superior craftsmanship and skills.

 

The awards are administered by Master Painters Australia Victoria Tasmania, the peak industry body for the surface coatings industry and are judged by parties that have outstanding qualifications and many years’ experience in the field of painting and decorating.

 

The Heritage Restoration Award is for excellence in painting and decorating work that depicts the form, features, and character of a particular property in the character of a particular period of time (e.g. Victorian, Federation, Art Deco etc).  These awards are determined by excellence in the areas of preparation, regular and blemish free surfaces, uniformity of colour and opacity, cleanliness of fittings and fixtures, evenness of finish, artistic skill and technical capability, cutting in between finishes and surfaces and the overall effect and visual appeal.
